Mission & Goals
The Mission of the Center for Locative Media is to engender civic engagement, develop shared community goals, and develop new models of democratic participation using place-based storytelling and emerging technologies.
The Goals of the Center for Locative Media are:
~Enable communities to embedded local stories and history in place, thereby re-creating their own environment;
~Re-envision public broadcasting so that the public creates the content and controls the technologies;
~Provide communities access to their shared history to create social capital;
~Develop a means for communities to respond to each other across social, ethnic, and economic lines;
~Create new models of democratic participation;
